Cam Coleman Picks Texas: Elite WR Set to Team Up with Arch Manning

Auburn Tigers on AL.com
Cam Coleman, the transfer portal’s top wide receiver, is set to make waves at Texas after his commitment to the Longhorns. This addition means that Texas now boasts one of the most formidable wide receiver corps in the nation for 2026, even after the recent shift of Parker Livingston to Oklahoma.

Coleman joins standout players Emmett Mosley and Ryan Wingo, both of whom made significant contributions to the Arch Manning-led offense this past season under Steve Sarkisian. Despite the challenges faced by Auburn’s quarterbacks, Coleman showcased his skills with multiple 100-yard games, totaling 56 receptions for 708 yards and five touchdowns while leading the Tigers’ receiving corps.

Ranked as the No. 2 receiver and the No. 5 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class by 247Sports, Coleman concluded his time at Auburn with impressive stats: 93 receptions, 1,306 yards, and 13 touchdowns over 23 games. As a freshman, he recorded 37 receptions for 598 yards and eight touchdowns, and expectations were high for an All-SEC season before Auburn struggled under Hugh Freeze’s leadership.

For Sarkisian and Texas, roster activity is in high gear this month. They’ve successfully recruited All-ACC linebacker Raheem Biles from Pittsburgh and running back Raleek Brown from Arizona State, enhancing their lineup. New commits also include defensive lineman Zion Williams from LSU, offensive lineman Dylan Sikorski from Oregon State, tight end Michael Masunas from Michigan State, defensive end Ian Geffrard from Arkansas, and linebacker Justin Cryer from Florida State.

The influx of talent like Coleman, Biles, and Brown solidifies the Longhorns’ chances for a championship run, especially with Manning opting to stay for the 2026 season. The Longhorns kicked off the 2025 season at the top of national rankings, but a loss to Ohio State shifted perceptions among voters. Manning faced initial struggles as a first-year starter but turned his season around to become one of the top passers in the SEC, throwing 12 touchdown passes in his final five games and achieving three 300-yard performances.

Manning’s prowess culminated in an MVP show during the Citrus Bowl against Michigan, where he registered four total touchdowns and amassed 376 yards. His electrifying 60-yard touchdown run sealed a career-high 155-yard rushing performance in the fourth quarter.
