Former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman and television analyst Marcellus Wiley is facing legal challenges on multiple fronts.
In addition to a recently filed misdemeanor battery case, Wiley remains involved in a civil lawsuit over an unpaid business loan, according to court records.
TMZ previously reported that Preferred Bank sued Wiley and his company, Dat Dude Entertainment, in December 2025, alleging they failed to repay a $500,000 business loan issued in 2023. The lawsuit also claims interest payments remain outstanding after multiple extensions.
The civil case is still pending.
The financial dispute resurfaced after Wiley was arrested July 4 in Orange County, Florida, on a misdemeanor battery allegation involving his wife, Annemarie Wiley.
According to law enforcement, Annemarie Wiley told deputies she feared violence and asked officers to remove her husband from their hotel room. She has since filed for divorce and is seeking custody of the couple’s three children.
Court filings also include allegations that Wiley borrowed $100,000 from his wife and charged another $100,000 to her credit cards. Those claims have not been proven in court.
During a court appearance, Wiley requested a public defender, reportedly telling the court he has approximately $2 million in debt and earns about $10,000 per month. He was later released after posting a $1,000 bond.
Wiley has denied the allegations.
In a statement posted to X, the former NFL player said he “completely and unequivocally” rejects the claims against him and maintained that evidence, including videos, photographs, text messages and emails, supports his version of events.
Wiley said he intends to address the matter publicly once the legal process allows him to do so.
The criminal case and civil lawsuit remain ongoing, and no court has reached a final determination in either matter.
